Mintzer's fresh riffs and spontaneous interaction with his band mates' groove, proves that his stimulating solos build a good feeling that has become widely appreciated and unpredictable. Not since John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins laid their saxophonics on the jazz world has a tenor saxophonist become so poised to step forward and offer a quartet that features so much virtuosity and brilliant musicality as offered by these four.
